I don't know that I totally agree with that statement. I think I would if we could paint all churches as doing this, but I don't think they do. Like everything else, there are always the extremes.

Some church's go from one fad or trend to another, like you said, "chasing". But, I think many churches simply look at the culture they are trying to reach. We have to approach different cultures well... differently.

Like Young Life. I'd say we've done a pretty good job of not going from one trend to another. It's pretty much been the same thing for 60 years, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't look at changes in Youth Culture from time to time & make adjustments to how we present our message. The relational ministry remains the same, but some of the methods or discussions that take place becuase of the changing youth culture need to be re-evaluated from time to time.
